Responsibilities
- Ensure more than 98% of shipments are cleared on time to avoid demurrage and detention charges
- Ensure the efficiency and effectiveness of import/export processes, minimizing delays and unnecessary expenses
- Ensure all customer duties, commercial taxes, and other taxes are correctly calculated and levied
- Update and maintain 100% accuracy on tax exemption status and ensure compliance with any changes in laws, rules, and regulations
- Apply for and obtain required import licenses in a timely manner to prevent delays
- Track and collect all necessary documents before cargo arrival and disseminate them to relevant departments for SAP processing before clearance
- Ensure all department-related documents are archived per the corporate document retention policy
- Promptly inform shippers, suppliers, and relevant parties of any damage or quality claims, ensuring the company receives the claimed amount
- Manage the import/export process, ensuring compliance with local and foreign government regulations
- Expedite customs documentation and transportation to/from foreign destinations, ensuring smooth operations
- Oversee timely completion of all paperwork and monetary transactions associated with importation, international trade and remittance
- Negotiate with clients and resolve issues with officials; liaise with principals and suppliers to resolve all the discrepancies
- Plan and prepare for adequate foreign currency reserves to ensure timely payments to overseas suppliers
- Ensure compliance with ISO guidelines, and that current procedures align with specified SOPs; train staff accordingly
- Manage remittance operations to ensure timely remittances, preventing varioius losses due to delays or errors
- Ensure 100% accuracy in preparing and processing Bank Transfer (TT) documents
- Prepare and provide accurate management reports periodically and in a timely manner
- Minimize unnecessary expenses by monitoring and controlling trade-related costs
- Build and maintain relationships with logistics, trade and remittance partners, ensuring favorable terms through effective negotiation
- Provide excellent customer service to internal and external stakeholders, resolving issues promptly
- Continuously monitor and improve processes, ensuring alignment with overall business goals and adapting to regulatory changes
- Effectively perform any other tasks as assigned by management
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in International Trade, Supply Chain, Logistics, Business Administration, Finance, Banking or a related field
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience as an executive in supply chain, logistics, international trade and remittance management
- Strong knowledge of international supply chain, global trade, remittance regulations, and compliance requirements
- Hands-on experience in import, shipment clearance processes, and remittance operations, including the latest government import and export regulations
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office: Word (both Myanmar and English), Excel, and PowerPoint
- Proficiency in English speaking and writing skills
