Job offer: Senior Accountant

Responsibilities

• Overall responsibility for managing all tax (Commercial Tax, Withholding Tax and Corporate Income Tax) compliance obligations and filings in Myanmar to ensure statutory deadlines are met
• Manage tax audits, ensuring transparency and cooperation and relationship with local authorities and keep up to date with changes in practices / legislation
• Interact with internal departments, business units and external tax consultants to address queries raised by the tax authority or business units
• Proactively take steps to improve tax processes and mitigate tax risks, manage tax risk reporting and quarterly tax accounting submissions to group
• Driving initiatives and working together with relevant departments/teams to achieve improved collection, due date accuracy, DSO, DPO, working capital intensity and other relevant KPIs
• Support investment projects with general review, profitability (ROI) analyses, approval process
• Overall responsibility for country budget and forecasting process, including monthly rolling forecasts
• Follow-up action plans to internal audit findings manage external audit
• Handle ad-hoc requests from the management

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Taxation, Banking/Finance or comparable
• At least 3 years’ experience in similar roles (tax accountant, credit control, budgeting, forecasting and analysis of financial result) or within a Big 4 Accounting Firm
• Experience from the Logistics / Freight Forwarding industry will be considered an advantage
• Strong English communication skills (both written & spoken)
• Good understanding of tax and financial accounting
• Strong Excel skills – Visual Basic programming skills will be considered as an advantage
• Strong analytical skills
• Inquisitive mindset / quick learner: keen to understand how things work (e.g. business processes, system setups)
